Vaping is Addictive and Dangerous

Home » Recovery News » Vaping is Addictive and Dangerous

August 23, 2019 //  by Jim Moreland

The enemy of your soul, Satan, continues to find new ways to destroy the physical health that God wishes for his children. Vaping is sweeping the country, especially among our youth. The addictive element in these vaping devices is still the same as cigarettes, nicotine, that addiction is what continues to draw people to the purchase of such destructive products.

In the past few weeks, 16 States have reported 153 severe incidents of vaping related lung respiratory illnesses.  I believe that we are just now scratching the surface of the damage these products will do to the health of our nation. Handcuffing the American people with the burden of paying for the medical care needed to treat these patients. Over the years, tobacco use has taken millions of lives and continues to kill 400,000 people each year. And cost billions of dollars in medical expenses and lost productivity–because of smoking related illnesses.

I smoked cigarettes for forty years and was at the point of surrendering to the horrible conclusion that cigarettes were going to kill me and there was nothing I could do about it. After turning my life over to Christ, I was able to quit smoking through the power of the Holy Spirit. I know that faith plays a large role in setting people free from all forms of destructive behaviors. Trusting in Jesus to deliver me from nicotine addiction worked for me: I have been nicotine free for nineteen years as of July 2019.

Wake-up America! Stop this self-destruction. As I have grown older, and continue to deal with the health issues brought on by of my own poor decisions I have come to understand that good health, both physical and mental, is an essential part of living a life that is fulfilling and successful. Why commit a slow and agonizing suicide by polluting the inside of your body with cancer causing chemicals, these same chemicals also cause lung and heart disease.  Stop imbibing these harmful chemicals into your body.

Get help and quit smoking today. My relationship with Jesus gave me supernatural strength to quit. If you are not ready to make a commitment to Christ to help you in quitting smoking, there are plentiful sources available that you can tap into to assist you in putting-off nicotine addiction. Don’t wait another second to quit the use of nicotine. The American Cancer Society found that quitting at any age is beneficial to your health,

And no matter how old you are or how long you’ve smoked, quitting can help you live longer and be healthier. But quitting is hard, mostly because nicotine, a drug found naturally in tobacco, is so addictive. Even so, millions of Americans have quit with help, and you can, too.

Don’t surrender to nicotine addiction; the battle to be free is worth every agonizing moment in the battle to get your life and health back. I hope you find freedom from nicotine and discover the liberty that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor, Jim
