I was sitting on the front porch enjoying a pleasant spring day when I noticed one of the Hostas plants bright, green leaf poking through the once frozen ground. I couldn’t help but think about Jesus’ confrontation with the Sadducees who didn’t believe in the resurrection of the dead. Jesus answered them this way, “But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living” (Matthew 22:31, 32, NKJV).
Jesus marveled at the Sadducees lack of the knowledge and power of God; I believe that is a serious problem in today’s culture too: “we don’t make God big enough.” God created the earth, the heavens, and everything contained in them. When he created the Garden of Eden, all its plants, and breathed life into mankind he set in motion the ability to bring new life from dead things every spring.
God knew before time began that mankind was going to sin against its creator. Why wouldn’t an all-knowing God create the ability to give a human soul new life, and the ability to create for it a new spiritual body? We must keep in mind that in the resurrection process our fleshly bodies are not resurrected, but our souls are redeemed and given a new spiritual body to inhabit. Amen?
As I get older, I am thrilled that when the resurrection of the dead happens that I will not be put back into this weakened body, but I will receive a glorious new body like my Lord Jesus’ that will last forever and ever. Everyday as I watch the wonderers of God’s creation I ask myself this question, “Is there anything to hard for the Lord.”
I hope you will support the Rising from Ashes ministry and this new teaching ministry. I will be posting a new teaching on the Book of Isaiah chapter 42 soon, so keep an eye out for the coming teaching.
